Veazie is part of School Union #87 with the neighboring town of Orono. Grades K-8 are serviced in the Veazie Community School located on School Street in Veazie. The Town provides transportation only to Orono High School. John Bapst High School and Bangor High School, both located in Bangor, have been popular choices for Veazie students.
In addition to the 173 students attending the Veazie Community School in the 2006-2007 school year, the Town of Veazie tuitioned 108 students to nearby local high schools.
The school offers various sports for the children to participate in, including baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, track and cross country.
The 2007-2008 school year begins for Veazie children in Kindergarten through grade 8 on Thursday, August 30, at 8:00 a.m. in the morning. Parents with children new to our community are encouraged to register their children at the Veazie Community School office before the first day of school. Questions concerning registration may be addressed by calling Principal Scott Nichols at the school office (947-6573). An informational school newsletter will be mailed to all parents before the start of school.
